Vintage Seiko Dolce ‘Super Hard Alloy’ 5931-5490 1983

Vintage Seiko Dolce ‘Super Hard Alloy’ 5931-5490 1983

This Vintage Seiko Dolce Watch is peak-seiko innovation, quality, style and craftmanship. Personally, I think the Seiko Dolce range is overlooked and has many gems - this one included.

This Seiko Dolce 5931-5490 Watch was one of the most expensive models in the 1983 Seiko Catalog due to it's insane spec sheet & features for its time. It features a sapphire crystal, a black stone set cabuchon crown and very well finished rectangular stepped case. The case is made of  "Super hard alloy". This was a special and expensive material to use, the surface hardness is high and resistant to small scratches, Hv = about 1200. This can definetly be seen 50 years later, see the beautiful case condition. It's also a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) Model - only released in Japan.

Due to the case material the watch is in great cosmetic condition for its age with minor detoriation on the applied indices. In comes on an aftermarket Bambi leather strap.

A Fresh Battery has been placed and it keeps time well aswell as sets smoothly through the crown.

This is model AGX808 costing a whopping ¥120,000 back in 1983
