Vintage King Seiko Vanac Special 5256-6000 1973

Vintage King Seiko Vanac Special 5256-6000 1973

If you're looking for an unique pieces, this Vintage Seiko KS Vanac Special with reference 5256-6000 has it all!

Seiko release the Seiko Vanac Series in the early 70s and there is no official comment as to why it is called 'Vanac' - but the result is bold, unique and special designs with vibrant colours compared to the general 'grammar of design' Seiko King Seiko's.

The dial is gradient green with unique shaped polished indices complemented by a black day-date window and katana-shaped and polished hands. This was an expensive high-end watch in 1973, shown in the top-notch dial and signed 'KS' crown.

Seiko Vanac was under the Seiko 'King Seiko' series featuring the automatic Cal. 5256 caliber, which was considered a hi-beat caliber at the time with 28,800 bph. It was a state-of-the-art caliber with hacking and fine adjustment.

The watch is working perfectly, winding well, quickset works and maintains 50s/d accuracy with 170 amplitude.

We might never know why Seiko called this model the "Vanac" but for sure it is truely a piece of art and something completely unique around the wrist!
